Women's soccer loses 3-2 thriller to Randall

The Ecclesia women's soccer team took a tough loss to Randall University 3-2 in their home opener on Wednesday evening. The match was close from start to finish with freshman midfielder Joseline Gonzalez (Siloam Springs, AR/Siloam Springs High School) getting the scoring started early by finding the back of the net in the 18th minute to give the Royals an early 1-0 lead. Randall came back with the equalizer in the 28th minute and the two teams went into the break knotted up at 1 goal a piece.

The second half was the difference as Randall outscored the Royals 2-1 and finishing off a 3-2 victory. Striker Denisha Stallings (Freshman, Warren, AR/Warren High School) accounted for Ecclesia's other goal. Senior Ana Lopez (Springdale, AR/Har-ber High School) also added an assist. The Royals dominated the shots on goal department over Randall by a count of 29-14 with 15 of those SOG's coming from Stallings and Gonzalez.

The Royals fall to 2-2 on the season and will be in action again on October 3rd at Neosho County Community College. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 P.M. as part of a double header with the men's soccer team to follow.
