Ecclesia College Claims Lead In Seventh Inning To Defeat Bacone College

Ecclesia College snagged a late lead and defeated Bacone College 6-5 on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Ecclesia College batting in the bottom of the seventh when Jeremy Green grounded out, scoring one run.

Ecclesia College built a four-run lead in the eighth inning and then held off Bacone College's charge. Bacone College scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Dalton Martin and a single by Royce Charley.

Bacone College got things moving in the first inning, when Alex Dominguez doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Bacone College evened things up at two in the top of the sixth inning. An error scored one run for Bacone College.

Ecclesia College notched three runs in the eighth inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Matt Garrison and Stevie Morphew.

Cameron Pitts earned the win for Ecclesia College in relief. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over one inning, striking out one and walking zero. Christian Stone, Elijah Saldana, Trever Smith and Weston Chadwell all put in work on the pitcher's mound in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Smith recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Ecclesia College.

Cameron Ball took the loss for Bacone College. He allowed two hits and one run over one-third of an inning, walking one.

Kyler Johnston started the game for Bacone College. He surrendered one run on four hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one. Isaac Carlson started the game for Ecclesia College. He went three innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out two and walking zero.

Ecclesia College totaled nine hits. Morphew and JT Stalnaker all collected multiple hits for Ecclesia College. Morphew led Ecclesia College with three hits in four at bats.
