Royals lose to #2 seed Southwestern Christian University and downs #4 seed College of the Ozarks on day 2 of Regionals

Southwestern Christian University Defeats Resilient Ecclesia College

Ecclesia's ffort to come back from down six runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 9-7 to Southwestern Christian University on Thursday. Ecclesia cored four runs in the failed comeback on a groundout by Dane Clark, a sacrifice fly by Ethan Casey, and a home run by Jeremy Green.

Ecclesia fell behind early in the loss. Southwestern Christian University scored on a double by Cody Robinson in the first inning, a error in the first inning, a error in the second inning, a groundout by Manny Lopez in the second inning, a single by Anthony Ward in the second inning, and a home run by Diogen Ceballos in the second inning.

Southwestern Christian University took the lead for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second an error scored one run for Southwestern Christian University, Lopez rounded out, scoring one run, Ward singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Mason Alexander threw a wild pitch allowing two runs across the plate for Southwestern Christian University.

Ecclesia otched four runs in the seventh inning. Ecclesia offense in the inning was led by Clark, Casey, and Green, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Hayden Woolsey earned the win for Southwestern Christian University. He allowed five hits and four runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one.

Alexander took the loss for Ecclesia. He surrendered nine runs on 11 hits over four innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Victor Del Carmen started the game for Southwestern Christian University. He lasted two innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out three

Ecclesia macked one home run on the day. Green went yard in the seventh inning.

Ecclesia allied ten hits. JT Stalnaker, Stevie Morphew, and Green all managed multiple hits for Ecclesia. Green, Morphew, and Stalnaker each collected two hits to Ecclesia.

Southwestern Christian University had 12 hits in the game. Ward, Slayton Vaughan, Ceballos and Kelvin Fabian each collected multiple hits for Southwestern Christian University. Southwestern Christian University didn't commit a single error in the field. Trevor Hudgens had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

Ecclesia College Grabs Lead in Sixth Inning for Victory Over College of the Ozarks

Ecclesia stole the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over College of the Ozarks on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Ecclesia batting in the top of the sixth when Stevie Morphew singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

College of the Ozarks opened up scoring in the first inning, when Trever Smith induced Jacob Karlson to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, College of the Ozarks Bobcats Varsity tied things up at four. Dylan Heitz rounded out, scoring one run.

Smith earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Ecclesia. He allowed six hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out five.

Collan Thrasher took the loss for College of the Ozarks Bobcats Varsity. He surrendered five runs on ten hits over six innings, striking out four.

Ecclesia totaled ten hits. Morphew, Jeremy Green, and Zach Vincent all had multiple hits for Ecclesia. Green and Morphew each collected three hits to lead Ecclesia.

College of the Ozarks was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. JD Payne made the most plays with eight.
