Royals Fall Despite Exceptional Shooting From Ross

It was a packed house at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR on Saturday night as fans packed the gym for JBU’s famous annual Toilet Paper Game.

Following tip off fans eagerly await JBU’s first made field goal. As soon as that first shot falls through the net the crowd sends the TP flying onto the court. It did not take long, just 14 seconds, for the fans to get their wish as the Golden Eagles hit a three and the TP rained down from the stands.

Once all the toilet paper was cleaned off the floor, the game resumed and Redshirt Freshman Devontae Ross (Bearden, AR) began to make it rain from deep for the Royals. Ross shot the lights out in the first half going 8-8 from three, as the Royals fought to keep the game close early. Going into the half the Royals trailed 53-31.

The second half would be all JBU as their offense continued to stay hot. The game ended with a final score of 108-66. For the Royals, scoring was led by Devontae Ross who finished with 31 on 9-10 shooting from three point range. Senior Davion Lockridge (El Paso, TX/Ranger Junior College) added 15 points for Ecclesia. The Royals travel to Conway next to take on Central Baptist College.
