Men's Basketball Goes Into Break On A Two Game Skid

Saturday night December 15th, the Royals traveled to Oklahoma to play Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Ecclesia came in ready to play, with energy carrying over from their win the previous day.

The game was close early with EC taking a 6-5 lead early on. With 17:34 left to play the score was tied 9-9, and that is where the home team took over. Southeastern Oklahoma would go on a 13-0 run and never relinquished the lead. At the half Ecclesia trailed 53-26.

The second half featured more of the same as the home team lead was extended to 30 points, and ultimately 43 as Southeastern Oklahoma earned a 102-59 win. Senior Guard Davion Lockridge (El Paso, TX/Ranger Junior College) led the Royals with 24.

On Monday the Royals stayed in Arkansas as they went to play University of Arkansas Monticello. In the first half Ecclesia’s offense was cold shooting just 7-24 in the opening period. They fell behind 38-18 at halftime, but would come out of the break strong.

The Royals doubled their offense in the second half, scoring 36, but could not dig out of the hole. UAM out-rebounded the Royals 45-19 in an 83-54 Ecclesia loss. Senior Davion Lockridge (El Paso, TX/Ranger Junior College) would once again lead the Royals in scoring with 14, as Senior Cash Krueger (Denton, TX/Lyon College) and Freshman Joey Gobert (Beaumont, TX/West Brook High School) each added 10.

Ecclesia will return to action on Saturday January 5, 2019 against Calvary University in Kansas City, MO.
