Simpson inks with Royals baseball

Head baseball coach Matt McCue has announced the signing of catcher A.J. Simpson from Veterans High School in Kathleen, Georgia. Simpson spent last summer playing for the Coastal Stars showcase team based out of Warner Robbins, Georgia. "I am really excited about signing AJ. It was evident early on in the recruiting process that he had his head in the right place in his search of a program to grow on and off the field. At Ecclesia, we look for good people who want to invest in their personal growth, and set up their future for long term success in society. We feel AJ fits that criteria." Said Coach McCue.

Simpson is 5'9, 195lbs, the backstop batted .280 as a junior on the varsity program in 2019. He was named the defensive MVP on his team and had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate.

The Ecclesia Royals baseball program is coming off a 6th place finish at the NCCAA World Series and won 30+ games for the 3rd straight season. The Royals open their season at home on February 8th when they play host to Graceland University.
