The men's basketball team traveled to Manhattan, Kansas for a Monday afternoon matchup between NCCAA schools.

Recap:

The Royals were the closest they have been to a full roster in a while, only missing one player due to injury. The game tipped off and immediately saw a golden opportunity turn into a turnover for the Royals. This would be a great indication of how the game would unfold.

In the first 10 minutes of the contest the game was a tight 29-24 with the Royals trailing. The Crusaders were having their way at the rim and the Royals were filling it up behind Deondre Phillips (pictured) three first half triples. The Royals would then hit a cold spell offensively that lead to 14 first half turnovers and run into foul trouble to close the first half trailing 48-33.

The second half featured a little better offense from the Royals as they would go on to shoot 50% from the field on the day. But, unfortunately it was not enough as the Crusaders were able to share the wealth featured in their 24 assists on 33 field goals and out rebound the Royals by 11. Due to the rebounding difference and weak ball control by the Royals, the Crusaders of Manhattan Christian College managed to fire 15 more shot attempts than EC on their way to a 12 point win.

Royal Performances:

Deondre Phillips: 21 points, 6-9 FG, 3 assists

Zachary McGee: 15 points, 4 rebounds

Joey Gobert: 9 points, 4-5 FG, 5 rebounds
