On Saturday the Men's and Women's basketball teams headed to Dallas, TX to play against the Dallas Christian College Crusaders.

Women's Recap:

The game started out slow but very competitive for the Royals despite it being their third game of the week. DCC would grow a small lead after some great bench play, but the Royals, lead by Alysia Pickett, would charge back to bring the game within three points to enter the second quarter. The Royals would win the second quarter by two points to enter halftime down by one point.

The second half is where the game got away from the Royals as DCC's shooting percentage climbed over 12% in every category. Despite an incredible offensive performance by Alysia Pickett and a career high in rebounds by Nickiah Metcalf the Royals fell 67-76.

Royals Performances:

Alysia Pickett: 38 points, 10-19 3P, 5 steals

Nickiah Metcalf: 11 rebounds, 6 points

Men's Recap:

The men's team entered their game 28 days removed from their last competition and it took a little while to shake the rust off. After a quick 12-5 lead for Dallas. the Royals clawed back in to it and took a single point advantage. The seven point lead for the Crusaders was the largest spread of the game for either team. The Royals would enter halftime trailing 41-39 after Terrell Green swished a 55-foot heave to end the first half.

The second half was a lot nicer to the Royals as they would shoot 75% from deep and 61% from the field. EC started quick by developing a five point lead thank to a 10-3 run. The game would stay very close for the remainder of regulation. The Royals would make a couple big defensive stops to end regulation and force overtime 87-87.

Overtime belonged to the Crusaders. The hot hand of the Royals went cold and DCC would win by eight, 103-95.
