Ecclesia College sweeps Champion Christian College in their season opener.

Cooper Gordon did not allow a single run as Ecclesia College Royals defeated Champion Christian College Tigers 10-0 in game one of a four game series Friday and Saturday of February 5th and 6th.

The Royals secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the fourth inning. Zack Espinosa and Elijah Saldana each had RBIs in the big inning.

Gordon was the winning pitcher for the Royals. The pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out one and walking one.

Miller took the loss for Champion Christian College. The pitcher lasted four and a third innings, allowing 12 hits and ten runs while striking out four.

Ecclesia College Royals Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Espinosa had a long ball in the fourth inning. Saldana had a dinger in the fourth inning.

Ecclesia College totaled 12 hits. Cameron Berry and Luke Benfield had multiple hits for Ecclesia College Royals Varsity. Benfield and Berry each collected two hits to lead the Royals. EC was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Tyler Roberts made the most plays with seven.

Game two EC handled CCC 11-1.

Ecclesia put up four runs in the fifth inning. Austyn Hester, Zack Espinosa, and Clayton Philips each drove in runs during the inning.

Coleson Coffey was credited with the victory for EC. The pitcher lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out ten.

Fotenot took the loss for Champion Christian College. Fotenot allowed seven hits and six runs over three innings, striking out one and walking one.

Ecclesia College Royals Varsity tallied two home runs on the day. Espinosa had a four bagger in the third inning for his second of the series, and Luke Benfield had a homer in the third inning.

Ecclesia College Royals racked up ten hits. Cole Howard, Zack Espinosa, Jalen Reece, and Austyn Hester all had multiple hits. Hester, Reece, Espinosa, and Howard each collected two hits to lead the Royals.

Royals win a tight one 5-4 for game three.

In the third game Royals snatched the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Champion on Saturday. The game was tied at four with Ecclesia College Royals Varsity batting in the bottom of the fourth when Zach Espinosa drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the first inning, Champion got their offense started when Tarzan drew a walk, scoring one run.

Ecclesia tallied four runs in the third inning. Austyn Hester and Espinosa all drove in runs in the frame.

Elijah Saldana led the Ecclesia to victory on the hill. The righty allowed two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four. Jalen Reece threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Reece recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Ecclesia.

Polk took the loss for Champion Christian College. The hurler surrendered five runs on five hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Matthew Threatt started the game for EC. The pitcher surrendered two runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out one.

The Royals smacked one home run on the day. Espinosa went for the long ball in the third inning to give him an HR in every game so far. He led Ecclesia College Royals Varsity with two hits in two at bats.

Game 4 was cancelled due to inclement weather.
