Independent Region Baseball Tournament Field Announced


Starting 9:00am Monday morning, May 10th, at Tyson Sports Complex in Springdale, AR will be the NCCAA Independent Region Baseball Tournament. The tournament field and schedule was announced Wednesday, May 5th. The seven teams that make up the tournament are seeded based on the NCCAA Power Rating. This rating system supplies a rating based on who you beat or lost to, what their record was, and where you played them.

Taking the #1 seed in the tournament is your own Ecclesia College Royals. The Royals enter the tournament with a 29-20 overall record, and a record of 14-4 against the tournament field. The Royals suffered two losses to Kansas Christian College, and a loss to Dallas Christian College and Randall University respectively.

The #2 spot goes to Kansas Christian College from Kansas City, MO. The Falcons enter the tournament with a record of 26-9, and a 11-5 record against the tournament field.

Holding the #3 seed is Champion Christian College from Hot Springs, AR. The Tigers enter the tournament 5-24 after a very tough schedule. They are 3-9 against the tournament field.

Taking the #4 spot is Southeastern Baptist College from Laurel, MS. The Chargers went 5-19 on the season and 1-3 against the tournament field.

Coming in at #5 is Dallas Christian College from Dallas, TX. The Crusaders enter the tournament 16-35-1 and 10-11-1 against the tournament field.

The #6 seed is Randall University from Moore, OK. The Saints are 11-36 on the season, and 5-13 against the tournament field.

Rounding out at #7 is Bob Jones University from Greenville, SC. The Bruins enter with a record 6-24 and 0-0 against the tournament field.


The tournament is a three day, two fields, double elimination event. Ecclesia College earned a bye as the #1 seed. The first game of the event is #3 Champion Christian College vs. #6 Randall University. Starting soon after on the second field is #4 Southeastern Baptist College vs. #5 Dallas Christian College. The final first round game will begin after the conclusion of the CCC vs. RU game, and it is #2 Kansas Christian College vs. #7 Bob Jones University. The #1 seeded Ecclesia College will then face the winner of the SBC vs. DCC contest immediately following theirs. The remaining matchups are TBA with the Championship matchup being at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 12th.
