Errors Doom Navy in Lose to Gold in Game 4

JT Stalnaker carried over a hot bat from game 3 of the Navy/Gold Royals Series where we went 4-4 with a walk off homerun by going 3-3 at the plate, sparking Gold to a 6-1 victory in seven innings over Navy in game 4.

Jacob Martinez was a workhorse on the mound while bagging the win for Gold. Martinez pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and four walks while striking out five.

Mason Alexander ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs (5 unearned) in six innings, walked one and struck out six.

Navy’s lone run of the ballgame came in the second inning on an RBI single by Corey Ball.

Gold stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring four runs on a two-run error and a two-run single by Stalnaker.

Gold piled on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Eric Hankins singled, bringing home Justice Jones who reached base on a single. That was followed up by Matt Garrison's single, plating Hankins.

With the win tonight, Gold leads the series 3-1 and will look to claim the Navy/Gold Royals Series Championship in game 5 on Monday, October 31, 2016. First pitch is slated for 3:00 pm at Royals Field at the Tyson Complex.
