Baseball Coaching Staff Announces Fall Awards

The Ecclesia College Royals Baseball coaching staff is excited to announce the 2016 fall awards.

In the annual Navy/Gold Royals Series, Gold defeated Navy 4 games to 1 to claim the Championship. The following honors were selected:

MVP (Most Valuable Player) = Co-MVP’s, JT Stalnaker (Jr/C) from Tallahassee, FL and Jacob Martinez (Fr/RHP) from Elsa, TX. Stalnaker hit .846 in the series going 11-13 with two homeruns, 7 RBI’s and 7 runs scored. Martinez went 2-0 on the mound for Gold pitching 14 innings giving up 6 hits, 1 earned run, 7 walks with 18 strike outs. He finished with an earned run average of 0.64.

Cy Young (top pitcher) = Jacob Martinez

Gold Glove (top defensive player) = Joey Dawes (Sr/OF) from Siloam Springs, AR. Dawes finished the series with no errors, 10 putouts and 1 assist that consisted of an amazing double play that he was apart of.

Hank Aaron Award (top hitter) = JT Stalnaker

In addition to the Navy/Gold Royals Series awards, the following overall fall awards were chosen:

Most Improved New Player = Alejandro Coronado (Fr/C) from Hillsbrough, FL

Most Improved Returning Player = Jay-Ryan Woods (Sr/RHP) from Trumann, AR
