Baseball Opens Season in Texas Going 3-1

GAME 1
Big Fifth Inning Gives Ecclesia College Royals Win Over Hannibal-LaGrange University

A seven-run fifth inning led Ecclesia College to an 11-4 victory on Friday. Ecclesia scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The Royals scored on a double by JT Stalnaker, a error, a single by Luke Taylor, a double by Zach Vincent, and a groundout by Matt Garrison. The Royals took the lead for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Garrison doubled off of Evans, driving in one run.

Mason Alexander earned the win for Ecclesia. He pitched seven innings, giving up four runs, seven hits, and striking out three. Rivas took the loss for Hannibal-LaGrange University. He threw three and a third innings, giving up three runs, three hits, and striking out seven.

Ecclesia had nine hits in the game. Stalnaker, Taylor, and Stevie Morphew each collected multiple hits for the Royals.

Hannibal-LaGrange University collected seven hits. Corniel and Reynso each collected multiple hits for Hannibal-LaGrange University.

GAME 2
Ecclesia College Downs Dallas Christian College, 5-1

Ecclesia College took home a 5-1 victory over Dallas Christian College on Friday.

Jay-Ryan Woods earned the win for the Royals. He went six innings, giving up one run, six hits, and striking out six. Graves took the loss for Dallas Christian College. He threw four innings, surrendering four runs, four hits, and striking out three.

Stevie Morphew, Brent Phillips, Zach Vincent, and Joey Dawes each drove in one run to lead Ecclesia. The Royals didn't commit a single error in the field. Ethan Casey had the most chances in the field with eight.

GAME 3
Ecclesia College Royals Grabs Lead in Fifth Inning for Victory Over Hannibal-LaGrange University

Ecclesia College defeated Hannibal-LaGrange University 11-3 on Saturday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at three with the Royals batting in the top of the fifth when Cameron Dougherty singled off of #4, driving in one run.

Hannibal-LaGrange University took an early lead in the second inning. Hannibal-LaGrange scored two runs when Jones doubled with zero outs in the second inning.

Ecclesia evened things up at three in the top of the fourth inning. JT Stalnaker's sac fly scored one run for Ecclesia. The Royals scored six runs in the seventh inning. The Royals scored on a fielder's choice by Matt Garrison, a single by Brent Phillips, a single by Stalnaker, and a home run by Trevor Caldwell.

Madison Bates earned the win for Ecclesia. He went seven innings, giving up three runs, four hits, and striking out one. Graser took the loss for Hannibal-LaGrange University. He threw four innings, allowing three runs, seven hits, and striking out one.

Ecclesia had 17 hits in the game. Stevie Morphew, Garrison, Joey Dawes, Stalnaker, and Cameron Dougherty each collected multiple hits for the Royals Varsity. Trevor Caldwell, Ethan Casey, and Phillips each collected four hits to lead Ecclesia.

Jones led Hannibal-LaGrange University with two runs batted in. He went 2-for-2 on the day.

GAME 4
McPherson College Captures Lead Early to Defeat Ecclesia College Royals

Ecclesia College Royals lost the lead early and couldn't come back in a 12-4 loss to McPherson College on Saturday. McPherson College captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for McPherson College.

Ecclesia scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Ethan Casey and a home run by Trevor Caldwell. McPherson College scored seven runs in the fourth inning. The big inning for McPherson College came thanks to a home run by Flemming, a walk by Smith, and a error.

Ware earned the win for McPherson College. He went five innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, striking out seven, and walking one. #33 threw one inning, as two relievers helped McPherson College finish off the victory. Jacob Martinez took the loss for Ecclesia. He pitched four innings, allowing eight runs, four hits, and striking out four.

Caldwell went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Ecclesia in hits.

McPherson College collected seven hits. Flemming and Smith each collected multiple hits for McPherson College.
