Diamond Royals Split Home Opening Series

Game 1
Late Score Costs Ecclesia College Royals Against Graceland University

Graham earned the win for Graceland University. He pitched six innings, surrendering zero runs, five hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Jacob Martinez took the loss for Ecclesia College Royals Varsity. He went six and a third innings, allowing five runs, eight hits, and striking out five.

Corey Ball, Cameron Dougherty, Stevie Morphew, Eric Hankins, and Joey Dawes each collected one hit to lead Ecclesia College. The Royals didn't commit a single error in the field. Ethan Casey had the most chances in the field with seven.

Madera went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Graceland University in hits. Graceland University was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Bima had the most chances in the field with 12.

Game 2
Alexander Throws Shutout as Ecclesia College Defeats Graceland University

Mason Alexander didn't allow a single run as Ecclesia College defeated Graceland University 2-0 on Friday. Alexander allowed just three hits and struck out Maldonado to end the game.

The Royals didn't take the lead until later in the game. An error scored two runs for Ecclesia.

One bright spot for Graceland University was a single by Reynolds in the fourth inning.

Cameron Dougherty, Stevie Morphew, Ethan Casey, and Matt Garrison all had one hit to lead Ecclesia. The Royals was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. JT Stalnaker had the most chances in the field with ten.

Game 3
Ecclesia College Grabs Lead in Ninth Inning for Victory Over Graceland University

Ecclesia College took the lead late and defeated Graceland University 4-3 on Sunday. The Royals trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Brent Phillips doubled off of Gutierrez, driving in one run.

Ecclesia College captured the lead in the second inning. The Royals scored one run when Cameron Dougherty singled with one out in the second inning.

Justice Jones earned the win for the Royals. He tossed two and a third innings, giving up one run, and four hits. Gutierrez took the loss for Graceland University. He pitched one-third of an inning, giving up two runs, three hits, and walking zero.

Madison Bates started the game for Ecclesia. He went six and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs, seven hits, and striking out seven. Parra started the game for Graceland University. He tossed six innings, allowing two runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Ecclesia collected nine hits. Ethan Casey and Trevor Caldwell each collected multiple hits for the Royals.

Graceland University had 11 hits in the game. Colon Marquez, Harrell, Medina, and Bima each collected multiple hits for Graceland University. Graceland University was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Bima made the most plays with eight.

Game 4
Ecclesia College Can't Hold Up Against Graceland University

Ecclesia couldn't keep up with Graceland University and fell 15-5 on Sunday.

Graceland University captured the lead in the first inning. Harrell drove in two when he homered in the first inning. Ecclesia evened things up at three in the bottom of the first inning. Ecclesia scored two runs when Stevie Morphew tripled with two outs in the first inning.

Graceland University scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Graceland University came thanks to a error and a error. Graceland University took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Perez singled off of Jay-Ryan Woods, driving in one run and Woods uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run.

Whittaker earned the win for Graceland University. He pitched six innings, giving up five runs, eight hits, and striking out five. Woods took the loss for Ecclesia College Royals Varsity. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 runs, nine hits, and striking out three.

Home runs for Graceland University came when Bima homered in the fifth inning and Harrell homered in the first and fifth innings.

Ecclesia collected eight hits. Joey Dawes, Matt Garrison, Stalnaker, Morphew and Ethan Casey all collected multiple hits for the Royals.

Graceland University had 12 hits in the game. Reynolds and Harrell each collected multiple hits for Graceland University. Graceland University didn't commit a single error in the field. Bima had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
