Baseball Splits Mid-Week with St. Gregory's University

GAME 1

Late Score Costs Ecclesia College Against St. Gregory's University

Ecclesia College stayed in it until the end, but St. Gregory's University pulled away late in a 4-2 victory on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with St. Gregory's University batting in the bottom of the fifth when Armando Fajardo homered off of Jay-Ryan Woods, driving in two runs.

Ecclesia College lost despite out-hitting St. Gregory's University eight to four.

Ecclesia College captured the lead in the second inning. Cameron Dougherty singled on a 2-0 count in the second inning, scoring two runs.
St. Gregory's University knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the third inning. Ryan Lujan-Leonard's sac fly scored two runs for St. Gregory's University.

Layton Moore earned the win for St. Gregory's University. He went five innings, surrendering zero runs, three hits, striking out five, and walking zero. Jay-Ryan Woods took the loss for Ecclesia College. He tossed six innings, allowing four runs, four hits, and striking out four.

Easton Bennett started the game for St. Gregory's University. He tossed two innings, surrendering two runs, five hits, and striking out one.

Ecclesia College Royals Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over St. Gregory's University

Ecclesia College jumped out to an early lead over St. Gregory's University and took home a 6-1 victory on Wednesday. Ecclesia scored on a double by Robbie Rodriguez and a single by Alejandro Coronado in the second inning.

Ecclesia captured the lead in the second inning. Robbie Rodriguez doubled on a 0-1 count in the second inning, scoring one run.

Jacob Martinez earned the win for Ecclesia College. He went six innings, surrendering one run, six hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Madison Bates recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Ecclesia. Tyler Hebert took the loss for St. Gregory's University. He pitched one inning, surrendering two runs, two hits, and striking out two.

Justin Davis started the game for St. Gregory's University. He tossed five innings, giving up three runs, six hits, and striking out three.
