Royals Receive At-Large Bid to NCCAA World Series; 1st Appearance in Year 5 of Program

Ecclesia College Baseball (32-20) has received an at-large bid to the NCCAA World Series held in Cincinnati, Ohio May 24-27 at Prasco Stadium.

The World Series At-Large Selection Committee chose the Royals due to their overall body of work. They finished the regular season 30-19 and although they did not win their Central Region Tournament, they produced a good showing going 2-1 in pool play that included a shut out win versus the #2 seed NCAA DII Colorado Christian University. Colorado Christian University also possessed the #3 ranked RPI schedule in the country.

Participation in the World Series will be the Royals first appearance, but the program is just in its fifth year. Head coach Derrion Hardie was hired to lead the development of the baseball program, which had its inaugural season in 2013. Coach Hardie has successfully directed the program to five consecutive winning seasons and post-season berths. The Royals were just one game from an automatic berth to the World Series in the program's first year, but they lost in the Central Region Championship Game 5-1 to NCAA DII Oklahoma Christian University. The Royals have won 139 games in the program's five seasons.

Following the completion of the Regional Championship playoffs, the NCCAA tournament committee chose the At-Large Selections for the Baseball World Series to complete the playing field. Congratulations to the following teams:
