The women's softball team traveled down to Conway for a fall tournament that included six colleges from all across Arkansas. The tournament was set up round robin style as the Royals were scheduled to play three games on Saturday at noon, 2pm and 6pm.
Coach Ingram's team got off to a rocky start as the Royals fell to Central Baptist 12-1 in 5 innings and were held to just two hits.
The softball team had their second game immediately following the first but bounced back in a big way against Northern Arkansas Community College winning by a score of 9-1 in 5 innings. They had 11 hits offensively led by freshman infielder Brooke Boston (Gentry AR/Gentry High School) who was 3-3 with two doubles, 1 RBI and three runs scored. Tifani Fowler (FR/INF, Springdale AR/Greenland High School) added two hits, one double and two RBI's. Freshman Emily Chadwell (Norwood, MO/Norwood High School) held the Pioneers in check on the mound with 5 innings, 6 strikeouts, and no earned runs.
The final game was against Arkansas State University, the Royals lost by a score of 14-5. Chadwell led the offensive push going 2-2 and scored a run, Boston also added two hits and two RBI's.
The Ecclesia Softball fall season will conclude this Saturday with a double header against Evangel University at home, game time is slated for noon.
