Athletic Director Pat Briley has announced the hiring of Dan Wilson for the position of head softball coach, effective immediately. Wilson will take over for Tonya Ingram, who will remain on staff in an assistant role while she focuses on duties there and as head women's basketball coach. Wilson comes to us originally from Sparta, Kentucky. Most recently, he was an assistant softball coach for the Owen County School system from 2015-2016.
Wilson brings experience to Ecclesia both in softball and in the work learning atmosphere. Prior to being hired, Wilson spent 2011-15 at fellow work learning school Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Kentucky. He was named head women's softball and volleyball coach for the 2014-15 season. During his one year at the helm his teams raised the bar of success by surpassing the previous season's win totals in both volleyball and softball. From 2011-13, Wilson spent time as an assistant softball coach and women's basketball statistician while he worked to complete his undergrad.
"I would like to thank Dr. Paris and Pat Briley for this opportunity. I am looking forward to growing the women's softball program at Ecclesia both on and off the field. I am excited to get to work with the team." Said Wilson in a statement
Dan Wilson graduated from Alice Lloyd College in 2014 with a bachelor's in History. He has been married to his wife, Emily, since January 2012.
