Head baseball coach Matthew McCue has announced the hiring of David Evans to the title of assistant baseball coach for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Evans' main role will be to organize, create, and moniter the stength and conditioning program for the Royals. He will also serve as the catcher's coach in an on-field capacity. "We are very fortunate to have David on our staff, his passion for strength and conditioning, his heart for the Lord, and his work ethic on and off the field make him a perfect fit within the vision in place for our program. I cannot wait to get to work with him for these young men on our team." Said McCue in a statement.
David Evans spent the 2017-2018 year as an assistant baseball coach with Inspiration Academy in Bradenton, Florida. While on staff with Inspiration, Evans organized and executed age and position specific workouts for 80 baseball players from middle school age all the way to post grad, he also assisted with the pitching staff.
Upon graduating from High School, Evans spent a year at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. He then transferred to Hannibal-LaGrange University where he spent four years on the Trojans pitching staff. Evans graduated in May of 2017 with a bachelor's in Exercise science and a minor in business administration.
