Saturday night the Men’s Basketball team was back at JBU in Siloam Springs, AR for their second shot at the Golden Eagles this season.
Once again it would be JBU getting off to a hot start in the first half. They would pour in shots from all over the floor scoring 53 first half points. The Royals struggled in comparison as they shot 38% from the field, and only 12% from deep in the first 20 minutes.
The second half would be a foul fest, as the two teams combined for 30 fouls and 35 free throw attempts. All the free throws would be a big part of Ecclesia’s second half scoring as they hit 14 of 19 from the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes. The 3 point shooting improved as well, with the Royals shooting 30.8% from beyond the arc to close out the game.
Despite 40 second half points for the Royals the deficit was just too big, and EC would lose 94-66. Royals scoring was led by Senior Cash Krueger (Denton, TX/Lyon College) and Sophomore Vince Toftness (Owenton, KY) who had 13 and 11 respectively.
