Oklahoma City played host to Ecclesia College last night as the Royals came in ready for action against Mid America Christian University. The visitors came out strong early on and had multiple leads in the first half as the lead changed hands 12 times in the first 20 minutes.
The game stayed close early on, and Ecclesia’s largest lead would be 4 points. With 7:21 remaining the Royals had a 25-24 lead. That is when the offensive went cold, as MACU went on a 13-0 run. Freshman guard Joey Gobert (Bauemont, TX) ended the scoring drought with a bucket for EC, but the half ended with the Royals trailing 42-27.
MACU went on an 18-6 run to start the second half to begin to put the game away. Ecclesia continued to struggle and the Royals lost 107-62.
Senior guard Davion Lockridge (El Paso, TX/Ranger Junior College) had a season high 18 points to lead Ecclesia’s scoring. The Royals next game is on Monday December 10th at Barclay College in Kansas at 6:45 p.m.
