Former Ecclesia Royals ace Mason Alexander has signed a professional contract with the New York Boulders of the frontier league. Mason is currently out west pitching in the California Winter League where athletes from all over the world come for a 5 week league to showcase their abilities in front of professional scouts. Mason currently is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 2bb's and 7k's, 7 2/3 IP in two starts.
The New York Boulders, formerly of the Can-Am league of professional baseball, merged with the frontier league this year. Last year, the Boulders were 43-50.
Mason graduated in May of 2019 finishing off the most successful pitching career in program history. Alexander won 9 and 10 games in back to back seasons in his junior and senior years, respectively. He was named 1st team all-region and 3rd team all-american his junior year with a 9-2 record, 1.61 ERA, 78ip, 14 bb's, 68 strikeouts. His senior year, Mason established himself as one of the best pitchers in the country. With wins over nationally ranked Texas Wesleyan, Southwestern Christian, and NCAA D2 Eastern New Mexico University. Mason was twice named NCCAA player of the week for his performances on the mound. He also went 1-0 in the NCCAA World Series by defeating #4 nationally ranked Hiwassee College. Mason was named 1st team all-region and 2nd team all-american with a 10-2 record, 2.06 era, 83ip, 22bb's, and 85 strikeouts.
Mason Alexander is the 6th Royal to ever sign a professional contract in our program's 8 year history.
