Royals finally getting to return from a Christmas break in which played in a tournament where they placed third, and played NCAA Division 1 Alcorn State University. The Royals come into the semester with a healthy lineup for the first time this season.
The Royals started their second half of the season against Baptist Bible College from Springfield, MO. The Royals came out slow both offensively and defensively triggering an 11-point deficit going into half time. In the second half both came alive as the Royals came back to tie the game. The Royals would put together an incredible defensive stand in the final five minutes of regulation allowing only one point. This push enabled the Royals to push the game into overtime. It would take two overtimes to decide the outcome as the Royals would eventually run out of gas from the comeback and fall short 111-100. Drew Cone led the team with 43 points, and Deondre Phillips had 18 points to go with 7 assists.
The Royals next contest will be in Joplin, Mo on Tuesday January 14th.
