Ecclesia College, coming off their first back-to-back wins of the year and their first back-to-back wins in 94 games, had their last regular season road game against College of the Ozarks. Both teams were ranked in the NCCAA’s top 20 of offenses, so it was going to be a matter of getting stops for either team. Unfortunately, the wining momentum did not carry over for Ecclesia as College of the Ozarks shot an outstanding 60% from the field in the first half while holding Ecclesia to 39%. Ecclesia offense did come to life in the second half scoring 50 plus points but the hole was too big to climb out like EC had done before. College of the Ozarks finished with five guys in double figures as they routed the Royals 116-85. Drew Cone finished with 34 points, and Deondre Phillips finished with 23 points.
The Royals last regular season game will be against Champion Christian College at home in Springdale, AR at the Jones Center on Friday. Come support Drew Cone during his senior presentation immediately before the Men’s game.
