Xitlalhy Gomez

August's player Spotlight is Xitlalhy Gomez, or "'Lalhy,' because her name is too hard to pronounce" said Coach Collins. Lalhy is a women's soccer player entering her Junior year with Ecclesia College. She is a Business Management major who posted a 3.85 grade point average in the spring.

Lalhy is originally from Springdale, AR where she attended Springdale High School and met her all-time favorite athlete; Godfrey Malumo Siamusiye. He is a cross country, and track and field runner from Choma, Zambia. He competed in the Olympics in 1992 and 1996. He was also NCAA Division I Cross Country National Champion in 1995 and 1996, including the 1995 Arkansas Razorback cross country National Championship. Siamusiye is now the head cross country and track coach at Springdale High School.

Lalhy played in every game last season that lead to the program's first ever National Tournament appearance. We are looking forward to seeing how this season unfolds for the women's soccer team and Xitlalhy.
