Ecclesia Softball had a midweek home series against Bacone College.
Game one saw some good hitting for the Royals led by Gabby Moore's two homeruns. Brynna McGuire, Savanah Gayle, and Adriana Weaver pitched the game for Royals, but the Warriors came out on top 17-9.
The second game of the day was far more competitive and took extra innings to find a winner. Adriana Weaver pitched the complete eight innings, and Savanah Gayle, Adriana Weaver, and Emily Threlkeld all added homeruns. Unfortunately the high level of play was not enough and the Royals gave up the second game of the day 12-10.
Day two for the Royals did not start well with a 4-13 loss. Gabby Moore added her third homerun of the series, and Adriana Weaver and Savanah Gayle pitched the game.
The final matchup of the series was the most interesting. The Royals got down 7-0 by the top of the 2nd inning before finding any offense. The offense clawed their way back over the next couple innings. The Royals were down 6-7 heading into the bottom of the 7th after Brynna McGuire pitched 5.2 scoreless innings in relief of Savanah Gayle. After getting Emily Threlkeld on base, and a short deliberation of softball rules, Gabby Moore rocketed her 4th homerun of the series for a two-run walk-off bomb to end the series.
The Royals will travel to Muskogee, OK for a rubber-match four game series against Bacone College to end their season. Check here for the season in review article!
