Biography

2023 - 2024
In the 2024 spring season, Knox had a fairly good year. She ended up having to take the pitching role a lot more seriously due to some circumstances with pitching staff numbers. Therefore, her time was split between pitching and shortstop. However, Madison still managed to end the season last year with some impressive hitting numbers. Knox ended with a .437 batting average out of 126 at bats. She racked up 16 doubles within the season and also had a much better eye this season hitting in the leadoff position of the lineup, where she managed to get another 16 free bases. One of Knox's highs pitching last year was against Haskell Indian Nations University where Haskell did not score a single earned run, they only managed 3 hits in the 7 innings pitched by Knox, and she struck out 5 players. Knox also had another great weekend hitting in Oklahoma against Southwestern Christian. Madison went 6-for-6 on the day, playing a double header. Each game she had 1 double and 2 singles. No matter what pitcher they threw in there, Knox found a way to get on base to help her teammates stay in the game. This year we expect to see more of Madison on the mound and at shortstop again, and we look forward to seeing what her senior season has in store.

2022 - 2023
Madison Knox came to Ecclesia as a sophomore in the classroom and a freshman on the softball field. After taking a year off of softball, she got back into the game hungry for competition. Throughout her years in high school, she received First Team All-District and Team MVP her first three years. Madison was also a multi-sport athlete in high school playing volleyball and basketball, as well. While her main position in high school was pitcher, she quickly changed her game play and became a middle infielder. She started 35 out of 39 games at shortstop and made 47 outs during the 2022 season. Knox was not afraid to get dirty last year, making diving plays and trying to keep the ball in the infield. While Madison made a statement on the field, her main success last season came from what she could do at the plate. Knox ended the season leading the team in multiple categories with her batting average also being the highest in the NCCAA at .515. Out of 134 at bats Madison hit 25 doubles, 3 triples, and 5 home runs. Her slugging percentage was .858 and managed to not get caught stealing all season, gaining an extra 16 bases. She was also named Athlete of the Week by the NCCAA for two separate weeks last season. One of these awards was given following the four game series against Crowley's Ridge on April 2nd and 3rd. She went 12 for 14 including five doubles and three home runs. At the end of the season, Knox was listed as a First-Team All-American for her accomplishments on the year, and is the first First-Team All-American softball player for the Lady Royals softball program.
