Royals Baseball With the SWEEP

The Royals baseball team had a great weekend at home. Ecclesia College played against Randall University last Friday and Saturday. The Royals became victorious all four games, and ended the weekend 4-0. 

The Royals defeated Randall 9-4 on Friday here in Springdale. The Ecclesia College Royals got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Zachary Lester singled, and Randall University committed an error, each scoring one run. 

Julian Aguilera singled, which helped Ecclesia tie the game at four in the bottom of the second. 

In the bottom of the third, Ecclesia broke up the tie when Easton Reichard singled, scoring one run. Then a walk by Keegan Bulza followed to extend the lead to 7-4. 

Cole Doke earned the win for the Royals. The lefty surrendered five hits and four runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking six. Derek Harbison tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Ecclesia in relief. The reliever gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none. 

The Royals accumulated 11 hits in the game. Jett Warner, Lester, and Eddison Marcano each collected two hits for Ecclesia College. Aguilera went 1-for-2 at the plate as they led the team with two runs batted in. Warner stole two bases. 

In game two, Jo Jaco was dominant on the hill, as the righty rang up 10 strikeouts in Ecclesia 6-1 victory over Randall on Friday. Jaco allowed two hits and one run over seven innings while walking none. 

Royals were the first to get on the board in the second when Zachary Lester homered to right field, scoring two runs. 

Tyler Davis led Ecclesia with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Lester went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Royals in hits. 

Cole Edwards started on the mound for game three. Edwards struck out 10 batters as the right-handed pitcher led Ecclesia College Royals past Randall 6-2 on Saturday playing in Seneca, Missouri. Edwards gave up five hits and two runs over six innings while walking six. 

The Royals got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Tyler Davis tripled, and Adrian Vivo grounded out, each scoring one run. 

Ecclesia took the lead in the bottom of the third. Eddison Marcano singled, scoring one run, to give the Royals the advantage, 3-2. 

Ryan Pindell threw one inning of zero-run ball for Ecclesia in relief. The righty gave up zero hits, striking out two and walking none. 

Jo Jaco led the Royals with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Delton Lamborn, Davis, Julian Aguilera, Keegan Bulza, Jaco, and Marcano each collected one hit for Ecclesia. 

Ecclesia took the last game of the series and came out victorious 6-1. 

Jett Warner singled at the beginning of the game, which helped Ecclesia tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. 

A homerun to left field by Tyler Davis gave the Royals the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the fourth.

Blaine Dunston earned the win for the Royals. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.

Ecclesia College's Francisco Sanchez made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Davis and Aguilera each drove in two runs for the Royals. Ecclesia also earned one double play in the game. 

The Royals had a great weekend with a lot of success from the whole team. After this past weekend, Ecclesia College will play a two game series versus College of the Ozarks at Randall Tyson Recreational Complex. Come out and enjoy this weekday series and cheer on your Ecclesia Royals!
