In what turned into a frenetic back-and-forth encounter, the Ecclesia College men's soccer team and #29 Dallas Christian College played to a dramatic 3–3 draw.
First Half: DCC Strikes Early, Ecclesia Claws Back
Dallas Christian struck first in the 5th minute, when Silas Wiltshire (Ecclesia) was caught giving away possession and DCC broke quickly. Luis Delgado found space and converted the chance, assisted by Ethan Padilla.
Just five minutes later (10'), Ecclesia responded in rapid fashion. A cross from Silas Wiltshire set up Niklas Roessler to level the match. Moments later, Julian Garcia slotted home a second to give Ecclesia a surprising 2–1 lead.
But DCC rallied again before halftime. In the 33rd minute, Anthony Tranquilino scored off a feed from Aldo Gomez, and then Gomez turned provider himself in the 41st minute—his pass from David Ceniceros allowing Gomez to finish. Dallas Christian entered the break ahead 3–2.
Second Half: A Stalemate in Goals, High on Drama
The second half remained scoreless, but drama abounded. Ecclesia poured pressure forward, outshooting DCC by a slight margin over the course of the match (25 shots for Ecclesia vs. 26 for DCC; 13 vs. 12 shots on goal) . Their goalkeeper, Damian Castro, made 9 saves under sustained assault.
