Lady Royals Fight Through Adversity at Mission

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Ecclesia College Lady Royals fell 67–52 at Mission University on December 8, but the contest showed flashes of fight and promise for a young squad continuing to build chemistry.

From the opening tip, the Lady Royals battled — they hung tough throughout and despite the final score, demonstrated resilience and hope for growth. Ecclesia closed quarters down, but kept competing to the final buzzer, even during momentum runs from Mission.

Team & Stat Highlights

  • Shooting & Offensive Production: The Lady Royals went 21-of-59 from the floor (35.6%), with 7-of-31 from beyond the arc (22.6%) and 3-of-6 at the free-throw line (50%).

  • Rebounding: Ecclesia grabbed 37 rebounds (6 offensive, 31 defensive), showing a willingness to battle on the boards even when challenged.

  • Bench & Balanced Effort: The team got contributions across the roster — bench players accounted for 15 of the 52 points.

Standout Contributors

  • Alida Torres led the Way — 13 points on 5-of-16 shooting (3-of-10 from 3PT), adding 2 boards, and 3 assists in 36 minutes of action.

  • Antaniece Jackson also made valuable contributions: 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, with 6 total rebounds.

  • Liberty Miller came off the bench and added 8 points, helping shore up second-unit production.

  • Others — including Lillie Taylor, Kaidence Prendergast, and Taniyah Mays — also saw significant minutes and laid the groundwork for further development as the season progresses.

What This Means — And What's Next

While the result wasn't what the Lady Royals hoped for, this game offered a number of positives: solid effort on the glass, bench scoring, and multiple players gaining meaningful minutes in a tough road environment.

For a team still shaping its identity this season, matchups like this are less about wins or losses, and more about growth — chemistry, toughness, and learning to execute under pressure. As Ecclesia moves forward, building off the energy and contributions shown in this contest could pay dividends.

The Lady Royals will now regroup and turn their attention to the next contest at Missouri S&T tomorrow, looking to build continuity and sharpen their execution as they work toward their season goals.
