This weekend, the Royals hosted Crowley's Ridge College in a 4-game series to open up the home schedule. The team planned to send a message this weekend after the disappointing Game 2 loss against C of O last Tuesday, and that's exactly what they did. Averaging almost 9 runs a game, the offense continued to pour it on CRC's pitching staff all weekend. 9 different hitters collected RBIs including
Ethan Delgado (7),
Julian Aguilera (5),
Diego Canuelas (4),
Adrian Vivo (4),
CJ Price (4),
Delton Lamborn (3),
Jett Warner (2),
Ray Jaramillo (2), and
Elijah Hillard (1). Everyone contributed, as shown by the team batting average of .365 over the four games.
The pitching staff continued to shove, not giving CRC any room to breathe as they posted a team ERA of 1.92.
Cole Edwards earned Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in Game 4, going 7 innings and allowing 4 hits, 0 runs and striking out 8. Edwards,
Pablo Rodriguez,
Joshua Nicholson and
Aidan Wagley all picked up wins over the weekend to help the team improve to 5-4 on the season.
The Royals look to extend the winning streak this weekend, travelling to Little Rock to take on Arkansas Baptist College in another 4-game series.
