The Royals split the weekend series with Southwestern College this weekend, winning games 2 and 3 and picking up their second and third wins of the season.
 In Game 1,
Ariana Ortiz was a bright spot for the team, going 3 for 3 with a solo home run for the only run of the game for the ladies.
Kaylee McDaniel (2-3),
Desirae Reed (1-3) and
Lauren Taylor (1-3) also contributed offensively.

Emily Suttles took the loss in Game 1, going 7 innings and giving up 4 earned runs on 10 hits while striking out 2.
 In Game 2, the Royals bats woke up as they broke out with 10 runs, including 7 in the 5th inning.
Western Mussett (3-4),
Kaylee McDaniel (2-4), and
Ariana Ortiz (2-4) all collected multiple hits for the Royals while
Desirae Reed and
Aubrey Smith both went 1-3.
Suttles picked up the win this game, going 7 innings, giving up 5 earned runs and striking out 2 again.
Game 3 saw the Royals continue their offensive onslaught, scoring 11 more runs.
Alexis Williams and Ortiz both picked up multiple hits while Reed, Mussett, Taylor and McAdams all also contributed with one hit a piece.
Suttles picked up another win, throwing all 5 innings and only allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits.
In the series finale, the Royals slowed offensively until they broke out with 4 runs in the 7th inning. Unfortunately it was too little, too late as the SWC Jinx put up 4 of their own in the top of the 7th to hold on 8-7.
Emily Suttles finished the weekend series pitching all four games, picking up 2 wins and 2 losses. In Game 4 she went 7 innings, allowing 7 earned runs and striking out 1.
The Royals Softball girls play today and tomorrow in 4-game tournament in Branson Missouri. They'll be competing with Missouri Valley and Cottey on Monday and Northeastern State and Missouri Valley again on Tuesday.
