Lady Royals Show Resilience in Hard-Fought Battle

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The Ecclesia College women's basketball team turned in a strong effort Thursday afternoon at home, competing for four quarters against Kansas Christian College before falling 55–44 at the Jones Center.

Ecclesia set the tone early, taking a 14–10 lead after the first quarter behind aggressive defense and strong rebounding. The Lady Royals stayed within reach throughout the first half, trailing by just five at the break as both teams worked through a physical, defense-first stretch.

Freshman forward Kaidence Prendergast led all players with a double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds), anchoring Ecclesia on the glass and providing second-chance opportunities. Lillie Taylor added 9 points, while Liberty Miller contributed 8 points and steady ball handling. Madison Stovall and Alida Torres each chipped in key minutes and rebounding help as the Royals finished with 35 total rebounds.

Kansas Christian gained separation in the second half, but Ecclesia continued to compete, sharing the ball and limiting turnovers. The Lady Royals finished with 13 assists, matching KCC in that category, and held their own defensively despite shooting 31.7% from the field.

While the result did not swing in Ecclesia's favor, the performance reflected continued growth, toughness, and commitment on the defensive end as the Lady Royals move forward in the season.
