SPRINGDALE, Ark. — The Ecclesia Lady Royals continued to show resilience and competitive growth on Saturday afternoon at The Jones Center, battling through a challenging matchup in a 59–47 loss to Calvary University.
Ecclesia came out with strong energy and focus, keeping pace early and executing well on both ends of the floor. The Lady Royals demonstrated improved ball movement and discipline offensively, generating quality looks and staying within striking distance through the opening quarters.
Senior guard Alida Torres led the way with a team-high 12 points, consistently creating offense and setting the tone with her aggressiveness. Madison Stovall followed with 10 points, while Lillie Taylor and Kaidence Prendergast each added seven, giving the team balanced scoring across the lineup.
Defensively, the Lady Royals competed against a physical Calvary squad, contesting shots and working to limit second-chance opportunities. Ecclesia showed improvement in defensive rotations and effort in the half court, forcing Calvary into multiple tough possessions throughout the game.
Despite Calvary's ability to capitalize in the paint and stretch the floor in the second half, Ecclesia continued to fight, cutting into the deficit with timely baskets and stops. The Lady Royals never lost their composure, maintaining effort and intensity for all four quarters.
While the final score favored the visitors, the performance reflected meaningful progress and growing confidence for a young Royals squad. Ecclesia will look to build on the positives from this outing as the team continues to develop chemistry and consistency heading deeper into the season.
