Ecclesia College

Sophie Arnold is a junior this year for the Ecclesia Royals softball program. Previously, Sophie was a multi-sport athlete playing volleyball and softball for McGregor high school. She also played travel softball in central Texas for a Waco Heat team where she was very successful. Sophie began her first year of collegiate softball working her way into the catcher position. She was a catcher previously at her high school, but worked mostly outfield for the majority of her high school career. Sophie appeared in 26 games in the 2022 season and started 18 of those games behind the plate. Within those 26 games Sophie only allowed 6 past balls and kept her errors at a low number of 3. As a catcher, she was a leader behind home plate all season and had one of the highest fielding percentages on the entire team. She acquired 40 outs for the Ecclesia Lady Royals and also helped the team out at the plate. Sophie had one of the highest amount of walks on the team for the season with 8.
