Christian Castro

Christian Castro is a collegiate soccer coach entering his fifth season in college coaching and seventh year overall in youth development. Hired here at Ecclesia at just 24 years old, Castro has already built a reputation for transforming programs and developing players with maturity well beyond his years. His early success reflects a rare combination of tactical clarity, leadership presence, and a deep commitment to player development.

He began his college coaching journey in 2021 at NCAA Division III Saint Elizabeth University, where he served as an assistant coach and Head of Individual Development. That season, SEU posted an 8-7-2 overall record—a .529 win percentage—with a 3-3-1 conference mark, marking the program’s best season in school history.

In 2022, Castro took over the men’s soccer program at Sussex County Community College, which operated under club status due to roster limitations. With no players on the roster, he rebuilt the program from scratch in just nine weeks, assembling a full team and laying the foundation for long-term success.

After an 0–10 start, Sussex returned to varsity competition in 2023 with a 6-5-2 record and a berth in the NJCAA Region XIX Quarterfinals. In 2024,  the team advanced even further, posting a 9-2-2 record.

Across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Castro has earned a 65.2% win percentage (15-7-4), reflecting his ability to lead rapid program growth and consistent performance.

In addition to his work with the men's team, Castro also took on the challenge in 2024 of rebuilding the women’s soccer program at Sussex, assembling a full roster from scratch and laying the groundwork for long-term success. His ability to lead both programs simultaneously highlights his versatility, work ethic, and commitment to building strong team cultures.

With experience at both NCAA and NJCAA levels before the age of 25, Castro continues to stand out as one of the youngest collegiate coaches achieving results at a high level—demonstrating that vision, leadership, and adaptability matter more than age.
