Box Score COLUMBUS, MS – The Royals men's soccer team traveled to Mississippi for a non-conference showdown against NCAA DIII opponent, Mississippi University for Women (MUW). The Royals wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, with freshman
Carlos Gonzalez netting a goal in just the second minute. Freshman
Pedro Figueroa added to the tally, followed by another strike from Gonzalez. The first half concluded 3-1, with the Owls responding with a goal from a free kick.
Facing adversity in the second half, the Royals had to play with 10 men after a red card in the closing moments of the first half. MUW capitalized early with a penalty kick goal, but the Royals were determined to secure the win. Warner University transfer

Rony Terma each found the back of the net to extend the lead. Despite a late goal from the Owls in the 88th minute, the Royals held strong, making history by defeating an NCAA opponent for the first time in program history.
