Box Score JACKSON, MS – The Ecclesia College Royals men's soccer team wrapped up their Mississippi trip with a non-conference matchup against NAIA opponent Tougaloo College. The game promised intensity, as the Bulldogs were fresh off a victory over Millsaps College.
The Royals wasted no time making their mark, with freshman Carlos Martinez converting a penalty kick to open the scoring. Shortly after, fellow freshman Rony Terma delivered a stunning strike, giving the Royals a 2-0 lead as the first half came to a close.
In the second half, the Bulldogs used their athleticism to keep the pressure on, but the Royals' defense held firm. Both teams had chances to score, but the Royals maintained their lead and finished the match with a 2-0 victory. This win is a milestone for the program, marking the first time the Royals have defeated an NAIA school.
With this victory, the Royals improved to a 6-4-1 record overall and remain undefeated in NCCAA conference play.
