Ecclesia College has hired Alex Tharp as Men's Basketball Assistant Coach and Head of Recruiting. Coach Tharp has 8 years of coaching experience at the college and high school level. Most recently, Coach Tharp was Head Coach at JF Webb High School in Oxford, North Carolina for the past 5 seasons. Prior to JF Webb Coach Tharp coached at the college level and played four years of college basketball, spending two years at both St. Andrews University and Chowan University. Growing up in Orange County, Virginia, Coach Tharp played basketball his entire life and is eager to start this new journey in Arkansas assisting Coach Cary Shelton with Ecclesia's Men's Basketball Team.

Coach Tharp had this to say about his new position. "Leaving Oxford was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made. Those kids and community gave me the best memories I could ask for in my five years there. This opportunity at Ecclesia was too perfect to turn down and to get to work with a coach with as much experience as Coach Shelton I know it will be the right move for my long term career. We are ready to do great things here at Ecclesia."
